HDM began developing and manufacturing core components for megawatt-level wind turbines in 2004 and has successfully produced 15 types of core components for 1.5-6 MW wind turbines, including gearboxes, yaw and pitch drives, and nodular iron castings, all of which have achieved batch production.

HDM is a leader in the development and manufacture of polar cranes in China, holding a market share of over 70%.

Core components for wind turbine

As a leading gearbox manufacturer for megawatt-level wind turbines in China, HDM has developed over 10 series of gearboxes covering dozens of types, with a total supply of more than 14,000 sets widely applied in onshore and offshore wind fields both domestically and internationally. The series of gearboxes for 2.X MW, 3.X MW, and 4.X MW wind turbines feature a platform design that allows for quick customization to meet customer demands. These products are known for their stable performance and high reliability, with exports to the EU, South Korea, Japan, India, and more.

HDM has established a yaw and pitch drives development center that utilizes advanced international design software to create products tailored to different wind fields for 1-6 MW wind turbines. This center has achieved modularized, serialized, and standardized production of yaw and pitch drives for various types of wind turbines.

Additionally, HDM has an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of nodular iron castings for wind turbines. With 8 casting lines, its products—including hubs, elbows, and bases—cover 0.85-12 MW wind turbines. The company produces more than 70 sets of castings for offshore wind turbines monthly and has successfully developed and manufactured castings for a range of wind turbines from 3-4.5 MW, 5-7 MW, 8-10 MW, to 10-12 MW.

Lifting appliances for nuclear power plant

HDM leads in the development and manufacture of polar cranes in China, holding a market share of over 70% and possessing independent intellectual property rights for polar cranes used in both improved 2nd-generation and 3rd-generation nuclear power plants (including CAP1000, CAP1400, ACP1000, and ACPR+). HDM can provide various polar cranes, including models with capacities of 250/100+10t, 217(205)/10+190(205)+5t, 300/25 USt, 320+35/5+600t, 235/25t, 320/25t, and 200+35/5+550t for nuclear power plants with capacities of 300,000 kW, 1,000,000 kW, 1,250,000 kW, and 1,750,000 kW. HDM has also drafted China’s first industrial standard for polar cranes—JB/T 12214-2015 Polar Crane for Nuclear Power Plants.

To date, HDM has supplied polar cranes for numerous nuclear power projects, including those in Chashma (Pakistan), Guangdong Ling’ao, Liaoning Hongyanhe, Guangdong Taishan, Zhejiang Sanmen, and Guangxi Fangchenggang phase II. The lifting appliances provided by HDM cover both nuclear and conventional islands, including reactor building cranes, fuel building cranes, steam turbine building cranes, pump house cranes, hatch area cranes, waste storage cranes, and stationary slewing cranes for lifting heavy and large pieces at the terminal.
