Metallurgical crane

HDM has developed and manufactured a range of cranes for metallurgical plants, including foundry cranes, charging cranes, cranes with magnet lifting beams, and tongs cranes designed for slabs, coils, and ingots. The company has supplied over 15,000 sets of metallurgical cranes to both domestic and international markets. These cranes are utilized by major domestic steel plants and over 30 foreign metallurgical enterprises, consistently maintaining a higher market share.

Detailed introduction

The foundry crane is a key component in the smelting and continuous casting processes, utilized for charging hot iron into the converter at the charging bay, lifting molten steel ladles to the refining furnace at the refining bay, or transferring ladles onto the ladle turret at the molten steel receiving bay. The 75-480t foundry cranes designed and manufactured by HDM serve major domestic steel plants and have been exported to countries such as India, Brazil, Mexico, Thailand, and Malaysia.

The charging crane is responsible for loading scrap steel or other auxiliary materials (cold materials) into the converter. Over the years, HDM has developed five types of charging cranes covering more than ten specifications, including 20+20t to 110+110t, 180/50t, 240/80t, 260/80t, and 300/80t.

The claw crane is used in rolling shops or finished product storage to move finished rolling products from the roller table to storage or transport vehicles. HDM produces claw cranes in two types: the lifting magnet type and the folding arm type, covering eight specifications ranging from 7.5t to 35t.

Crane with a magnet lifting beam is essential for handling square billets, profile steel, wire and rod, medium-thick plates, coils, sheets, and tubes. This crane moves finished products from the continuous rolling production line to the stacking area and performs loading/unloading or stacking operations at finished product storage. HDM’s cranes with magnet lifting beams are classified into three types: general, slewing, and special, with specifications ranging from 5+5t to 60+60t.

The slab tongs crane, also known as a slab handling crane, is designed for handling slabs, particularly high-temperature slabs. HDM’s slab tongs cranes are classified into four categories: slab purpose, plate purpose, coil purpose, and ingot purpose, offering over ten types with specifications including 20t, 30t, 36t, 40t, 45t, 50t, 56t, 63t, 70t, 94t, and 100t.

The ingot tongs crane is lifting equipment used for placing cold ingots into the ingot pit or removing red-hot ingots from it. HDM’s ingot tongs cranes are available in types of 20t, 40t, 45t, 60t, and 65t.

The forge crane is essential for forging plants, used for lifting and turning over workpieces and coordinating with oil or water presses to complete the forging process. HDM’s forge cranes mainly include types of 80t, 160t, and 550t.

The product tending machine is specialized equipment used in aluminum electrolysis production, designed to meet the requirements of a 400-600kA large multipoint-fed electrolytic tank. HDM’s product tending machine operates effectively in the presence of HF corrosive gas, alumina powder, fluoride salt, carbon dust, asphalt fumes, high molten salt, and strong magnetic fields. It performs functions such as knocking off electrolyte crust, changing anodes, adding alumina powder and electrolyte, as well as lifting aluminum pouring ladles, tapping, and submerged slag recovery.
