Continuous caster

HDM has over 40 years of experience in producing continuous casters and has supplied more than 100 complete sets for casting slabs, round billets, square billets, and more, as well as ladle turrets to major domestic steel and iron-making enterprises.

Detailed introduction

Slab casters are used for casting conventional slabs. HDM has a strong technological foundation in slab caster development and has produced 1350mm, 1450mm, 1600mm, 1900mm, and 2300mm slab casters for numerous well-known domestic steel plants, with the capability to handle engineering project contracting (EPC).

Round billet casters are designed for casting billets with round sections. The Φ320~600mm round billet casters developed and manufactured by HDM are equipped with a PLC system for automatic control, detection, and adjustment of the entire casting process. The ladle turret and tundish are fitted with weighing units and large screen displays, receiving positive feedback from customers for their performance.

 

Square billet casters are used for casting billets with square and rectangular sections. HDM’s square billet casters feature 28 Strands,With A Main Casting Section Of 9024~502mm and a caster arc radius of 5.25~14m.

 

Ladle turrets are installed on the casting platform between the molten steel receiving bay and the casting bay, used to receive and transfer ladles filled with molten steel for casting. HDM’s ladle turrets have a carrying capacity of 42~520t per arm, with a high domestic market share, particularly for large-tonnage turrets (over 200t). The functionality has evolved from simple slewing to multi-functional capabilities.

 

HDM has over 40 years of experience in producing rolling mills, delivering complete sets of 50~100m/s wire rolling mills, 16-20m/s rod rolling mills, and 1500mm, 1700mm hot rolling mills to many domestic and international steel plants. HDM’s rolling mills cover a range of products, including complete strip steel hot rolling mills, nonferrous metal cold-rolling production lines, profile steel production lines, and various spare parts such as rollers.

 

The strip steel hot-rolling production line rolls slabs from the heating furnace into finished strip steel products under thermal conditions. HDM is capable of undertaking independent EPC projects, including design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning, with full mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic integration. Their 1500mm and 1700mm hot rolling mills have demonstrated excellent performance and customer approval.

 

The nonferrous metal cold-rolling production line processes nonferrous metals (e.g., copper, aluminum) into finished strips at normal temperatures. HDM provides comprehensive EPC services for these projects, including design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning, and has achieved outstanding results in China’s cold-rolling production industry.

 

The profile steel production line is used to roll products with irregular sections and complex shapes, such as channel steel for portal frames and sheet piles. HDM can independently handle EPC projects and has developed and manufactured profile steel production lines with leading technological expertise in China.

 

Spare parts—rollers—are essential components used in steel plant production lines. HDM specializes in surface treatments such as buildup welding, spray welding, and thermal spraying. Recognized as a high-tech enterprise in Dalian, HDM’s technology is advanced, covering fields like metallurgy, coal, mining, cement, petrochemicals, electric power, military, aviation, and automotive industries. HDM offers a complete range of surface treatment services, including thermal spraying, laser cladding, and can supply and repair rollers like laminar spray welding rollers, galvanized sink rollers, stabilizing rollers, coiling & pinch rollers, and cold-rolled rollers.
